Buddy Robertson

Buddy Robertson is a 1957 Graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque. He played high school football and baseball. He received a baseball scholarship to the University of New Mexico where he entered as a freshman I the fall of 1957. He played on the freshman team the season of 1958 and on the varsity the seasons of 1959, 1960 and 1961. Buddy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in June 1961 and a Masters’ Degree in Education and Administration in August of 1962. He taught school and coached baseball in Belen, New Mexico for 3 years and at Valley High School (Albuquerque) for 12 years before moving to the Albuquerque Public Schools Athletic Office in June of 1977. He retired as the District Athletic Director in July of 2002 after a successful career in education, coaching and administrator. Buddy and his wife, Jerri (also a UNM graduate) have been married for 52 years. (October 1961) Their three children are also UNM graduates. Michael, Lyssa (Dan), Thomas (Quindi) and they have eight grandchildren, Zachary, MacKenzye, Brooke, Delaney, Jack, Lucas, Rylee and Riley all in Albuquerque. Family has been and continues to be a very important part of Buddy’s life.
