Taryn Bachis
She played on Eldorado High School’s first girls basketball team in 1974 and was later named a Parade All-American. Her high school team had a 74-4 record during her playing days. Bachis also starred at the University of New Mexico in softball in 1979 before transferring to Kansas State University in19 80-1981, excelling in both basketball and softball. She coached Moriarty High School to the 1983 Volleyball State Championship. She has been the Athletic Director at the Albuquerque Academy since 2000. She coached girls basketball at Albuquerque Academy 1987-2000 and then again 2012 to the present. She was named Athletic Director of the Year in 2011 from the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. She was inducted into the New Mexico Activities Association Hall of Fame.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State and a master’s in sports administration from UNM.
